Safe, Clean Water for Villages

Back to Projects | Back to Hayes Ministry | Uganda Mission Home

We understand that it is the responsibility of the government of a nation to provide safe, clean water for its people. We are also aware of the argument that if we put in wells, we are releasing the government of that responsibility. However, the fact remains that third world governments are not doing their job and the alternative is not us or the government, but us or not at all.

Therefore, we choose to locate wells in ever village where we work. This is part of our holistic approach to village ministry. We seek to plant a church, build a medical clinic (with at least a nurse as staff) and a school and provide safe, clean water. In most of these village areas, there is no electricity, so we also help with solar lighting. See section on Light a Hut

A well will cost between $5,000 and $10,000. We have an ongoing Well Drilling Fund. When the fund reaches the level needed for the next well we are planning to drill, then that project is set in motion and the fund starts all over again. 100% of fund received for water projects go to providing the water. No administrative fees are taken out of the fund. We are happy to provide written and photographic reports on each well we install.

As of , the fund balance is $1,256.00
