We also assist families with some limited items for the family farm.

Piglets - $100 each

Provided to families to raise. In a rather short period of time can begin to produce their own piglets, providing both food and income

Baby goats - $100 each

Also for families to raise and they too take a reasonable amount of time before a family can begin to benefit from them

Calves

Cattle are valuable but can take up to four years before a family begins to gain any benefit from them so we generally do not donate cows.

Seeds - $10 to $15 for a 10 kilogram pack

Seeds are a special issue. We frequently have friends wanting to purchase seed from local stores for us to take to Uganda. Two issues arise. The first is many varieties of plants may grow very well in one area and not at all in others. The second issue is that many seeds sold in the US are hybrid and if some of this years crop are save to be used as seeds for next year, they will not produce the same quality of vegetable or if they do, the yield will be dramatically less. Therefore, we supply seeds that are tried and true producers in Uganda.
