WHY MEMORIZE SCRIPTURE?

• "...man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord" Deuteronomy 8:3

HOW TO MEMORIZE SCRIPTURE

1. Write the each verses on a separate card or small piece of paper so you can carry them with you and review them periodically during the day
2. Learn the reference, and the first phrase as one unit
3. Gradually add phrases until you know the whole verse
4. Say the verse out loud, write it out, say it to a friend
5. As you memorize and review the verse, think about how it applies to your life. What is the Lord telling you or teaching you through the particular verse?
6. The most critical element in Scripture memory is REVIEW, REVIEW, AND REVIEW
