Vitamin Project

Back to Projects | Back to Hayes Ministry | Uganda Mission Home

It is common for kids living in orphanages and school settings to have only one basic meal a day. In fact, it is said you can measure the wealth of a Ugandan by the number of meals eaten each day. The poor eat only once. Some wealth equals two meals and three meals means you are well off.

The content of that single meal very well may consists of posha (a ground maze (corn)paste like dish) and beans. It would certainly be wonderful to greatly increase the quality and variety of the foods eaten.

It is beyond the scope of our ministry to set up a daily feeding program, so we have found that supplemental multivitamins is a simply way to increase the nutritional value of their daily intake.

Each time we have teams ministering in Uganda, we send as many high count bottles of multivitamins as we can. Our primary focus is on children but we also take adult and senior vitamins as well.

If you live in the Panama City area you can join this effort by purchasing a bottle or two of high count vitamins on your next shopping trip. Then give me a call and we can arrange pickup. If you live elsewhere, you have two options. You can purchase the vitamins and ship them to our ACTI address or you can simply send a contribution clearly marked for "Vitamin Project."
