More Than A Photo Info below on these photos We call our child sponsorship ministry, More Than A Photo for our goal is indeed to do more than just send out photos. It is very easy to take and distribute hundreds, even thousands of heart warming and heart breaking photos of children in every imaginable circumstance. We understand we cannot help every child in need, but by God's grace, we wish to dig down and make not only a life long, but eternal difference in the lives of kids God places before us. In an effort to have greater impact on a single village, I am working some portion of each of my Uganda trips in the village of Kyamagemule. By God's grace we have a church started and a school. Now we need sponsorships to help kids be able to attend the school. Our program services both orphans and impoverished children. In each case, these children must have help to be able to attend school. With an education, they will struggle in life. Without an education, they have no hope of a future. If you are interested, please let me know and I can set you up with a child. Please contact me by email if you are interested or want more details. This is primarily a school sponsorship program, which provides fees necessary for children to attend school but allows for other forms of help as well in the form of gifts and supplies for the children. Here is access to an excellent video mostly made in Kyamagemule by our Water Ministry Team, but speaks to the needs of the children and education as well.
What is involved in our Child Sponsorship program?
Example of periodic student update ACTI is a 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Origination and gifts to it are tax deductible. In addition to a check or bank bill pay, you can support a child by way of the Network for Good or PayPal via the links below.
I highly recommend you read a great article on the effectiveness of child sponsorships, Want to Change the World? Sponsor a Child. I am not trying to suggest that we are duplicating a Compassion International ministry model in Kyamagemule, we are not. We do not have the resources they do. But we are working hard to follow their example and truly make a difference in the lives of these few kids in this one very small, remote and impoverished village. If you are looking to sponsor a child in some other part of the world, I would certainly encourage you to consider doing so through Compassion. If you are interested in helping in Kyamagemule, 100% of every dollar we receive ends up in this village, ACTI levies no administrative fees. About the photos above: The photo on the left is of a young orphan boy in the Kajjansi area. In the photo you can see a small aluminum cooking pot and a plastic plate. What you cannot really see the pot is sitting on two bricks with a burning lump of charcoal under it. He is cooking his own lunch. To me, the eyes of the child on the middle photo are quietly asking "Is there hope?" The photo on the right is simply one of those photos of a child that just grabs your heart. All three are symbols of a land of children with little hope except through faithful Christians. I believe that helping as many children as we can right where they live will not only make a difference for them, but also for their country. |
