Funding Projects in Uganda
Uganda Mission Home
ACTI has been working in Uganda since 1983. During this time, hundreds of benevolent projects have been funded by and through ACTI. We have established the following criteria necessary for funds transfer through ACTI.
- ACTI will only transfer funds to projects or individuals known to ACTI or ACTI members and associates, and even then, we may asks our staff in Uganda to further investigate a specific request for funds transfer. In addition to our own funding policy, ACTI is responsible to the IRS for the funds we wire.
- If ACTI is asked to send funds to a new project or individual, sufficient time for verification by our Uganda staff is necessary
- No Bank or money transfer service moves funds for free. EVERYONE charges something either in the USA or in Uganda or both. Therefore donors must understand a dollar amount given in the USA will be less once it reaches the recipient in Uganda. If an exact dollar amount is required in Uganda, then additional funds necessary to cover those fees must be paid up front. ACTI does not charge any fees for our part in this process but ACTI cannot absorb the fees others charge.
- Please understand, once a check is mailed to ACTI, it takes three to four days to arrive, then must be deposited and then up to four business days for funds to be available in Uganda. Funds can be given through Network for Good® or PayPal® will be available the next day but these service also incurs additional fees.
- Information for sending checks (standard and overnight) plus Network for Good® and PayPal® are available at the ACTI Portal Page.
