The Ugandan School Systems is organized as follows:
- Primary Grades
- P1 through P6
- Following P6 the students take a Primary Leaving Exam
- Secondary Grades
- S1 through S4
- Following S4 the students take the UNEB Uganda National Examination Board
- S5 and S6
- These final two grades are for students who excelled in the UNEB and are allowed to pick three courses of specialized study (sort of a prep school)
- Additional Studies
- Students who qualify have a number of options such as the university, technical school, Bible college, etc.
"High school, academy, and college" are equivalent terms in Uganda. What most westerns would refer to as college is exclusively termed "university" in Uganda.
In each case, P1 and up, students must be able to pay school fees in order to attend school. To help ease this burden on orphans, Hope School was founded by and is a major portion of the work of the Good Samaritan Sponsorship Project.
