Prison Ministry

ACTI in conjunction with Pastor Sam Bongole Kibuuka, works in Luzira women and men's prison, Kigo women and men's prison, and Kitala Men's. Prison. As part of the ministry, the team wakes up each morning very early to pray for those in prison.

While in the prison, the do evangelism, Bible study, and as they are able, provide them prisoners with sugar, salt, rice, matooke, sandals, and books. They also provide some small amount of air time (minutes on their cellular phone) so they can call their families.

When a prisoner has to attend court, they usually leave the prison before breakfast and do not get back until after dinner so we try to help by providing snacks for them.

Most need some kind of work once out of prison and we seek to help, but finding a job in Uganda is difficult, even for someone without a prison record.

We have also begun to have a ministry to the children of those in prison but this can be difficult as some are from other far places in Uganda.

You can join in this effort by helping provide funds for items we distribute to prisoners in Uganda. The prison are very meager and that is why we distribute the items mentioned above. Please also consider helping with distribution of the The Prison Bible. Ways of contributing are listed below.
