Children's Story Bibles

If you have young children, reading to them daily from a good "Children's Story Bible" is a very good thing. There are a number in English that I would recommend as they are faithful to the Scriptural text and do not turn the great historical events of God's dealing with His people into a fairytale, but in each story you are able to see Jesus.

Children's story Bibles I recommend:

  1. The Child's Story Bible by Catherine F. Vos. Originally published in 1935, it still a favorite with today's children, parents, and teachers (including the late Ruth Bell Graham). More than 200 stories from the Old and New Testaments are retold in simple language appropriate for 4- to 12-year-olds, while remaining faithful to Scripture.
  2. Egermeier's Bible Story Book, Elsie Egermeier contains over 200 stories from the Old and New Testaments told in simple language.
