Over my lifetime, I have heard many discussions of which is the Best version of the Bible in English. I also learned that the most simple answer to this question is "the one you read." The point being, if you do not read and study the Bible on a regular, consistent basis, then which translation you own does not matter.

It is my intention to return to this page and add many more comments, but for now, may I simply say I highly recommend the English Standard Version, identified by most simply as the ESV. It is available in many printed styles as well as online and for digital media.
